What this is

A small collection of self-contained things you can finish in under three minutes: a daily card, three 60-second quizzes, a jar of jokes, an oracle, four generated ambient rooms, a memory game, a handful of wallpapers, and some short writing about attention.

Every one of these has a finish line. That is the design constraint. If something cannot end, it does not belong here — which is why there is no infinite feed, no autoplay, and no "more like this" carousel.

How it stays free

Advertising. There are a small number of clearly-labelled slots per page, and native placements are marked as Sponsored. There are no pop-ups, no interstitials that block the content, no auto-playing video ads, and no audio advertising. The sounds page contains no ads inside the audio.

We would rather have fewer, better-placed placements than the maximum the format allows. If you want to advertise here, see Advertise.

What we do with your data

Almost nothing. There is no account system, no email collection, no newsletter nag. Quiz results, game best-times and your daily draw are stored in your own browser's local storage and never transmitted to us — which also means clearing your browser data clears them. How the content is made

The cards, jokes, quiz results and essays are written by hand. The ambient sounds and wallpapers are generated at runtime in your browser rather than shipped as files, which is why the site loads quickly and works with almost no bandwidth.

Languages

Dinkly is English-first. Spanish and Portuguese versions are planned for a later phase, because "the two minutes you spend waiting" turns out to be a fairly universal experience.
